angel in the sky

Last Monday, we went to the Parkview Square lounge because jp had to go back to his office to retrieve some document or something.

Anyway, the place is damn cool. It's very baroque looking..with gargoyles, statues of dead musicians and small fountains. Over the top, a little creepy, a little surreal and very bourgoeis...just the way i like it. hahaha.

Sorry, no pix of the exterior..only the interior.

Anyway, the place is really very nice. The lounge is not crowded and quiet..you get to really enjoy the live 3 piece jazz band there, that are, btw perched on a ledge on the 2nd story. It's amazing how they managed to haul a grand piano up the stage.

And then there's the flying angel.

Yup. There's a girl dressed up as an angel (complete with wings) and she attaches herself to some pulley system which hauls her up into the air (up to nearly 3 storeys i think) to get a bottle of wine.

Ok, the pic below is the bar with the wine "cellar" which reaches the ceiling. The entire pillar-like thing is filled with bottles and bottles of wine on 3 sides of the wall, though you can't see it. The angel "flies" up to the top (or to whichever level your wine bottle is located) to retrieve the bottle for you.

Very tinkerbell actually.

Anyway, do visit the place if you can. Although the lounge is open only to tenants (and their guests) and clubhouse members, I guess it won't be a problem if you dress up. They don't check ID at the door.

p/s: You can't see the angel's underwear when she's flying. Just in case you were wondering.
