zsa zsa and the melon

Celebrated Zsazsa's birthday for her yesterday...yes, finally.

First, a rare picture of zz smiling.
It's so difficult to get a pic of her smiling you know?

Must have been the bone. :D

Anyway, she was very happy tearing the meat off the smoked bone. She obviously could not finish the bone in one sitting, and, as all dogs do, went to hide her bone.

She's not very good at it though and she knows it. She had to change her hiding place like 4 times throughout the night because we kept finding the bone. wahahahaa.

This morning, she went to check on her bone to make sure it was still there.

It's quite funny, really.

Anyway, apart from celebrating zz's birthday, jp and I decided to make fruit salad.

We had water melon, pine apple, fuji apple, orange, mango and dragon fruit.

Sorry, no pics of the salad...only zz and the melon.

As you can see, the melon is really not that big. And it was full of seeds, damnit!

And because of this rather small melon, jp cut his pinky.
Well...it's not really his fault because I forgot to tell him that the knife I handed him was a double-edged knife.

Literally lah!
See?

It's more powerful than those Ginsu knives okay?!
But don't ask me why it's double-edged.

Yea, and this is my poseur boyfriend, and his pinky wrapped in tissue paper and held together with a rubber band.

Hahahaha.

p/s: Our fruit salad was damn yummy okay?

an afternoon of leisure

On this rather wet and cold tuesday afternoon, we went to lunch at Chinatown. While waiting for Kris to change money for her Darwin trip (damnit. still jealous lor!), i bought myself this weird hair appliance which is supposed to help me create the perfect bun effortlessly.

Looks can be deceiving.

This is Margaret's first attempt.
Even she agrees it looks AUNTIE...but she was very happy to take photos of me in my Auntie-do - the Auntie-do that Auntie Margaret helped create.

Hmm..Auntie Audrey.

Actually sounds quite nice hor?

hahahahaha. Siao. I'm only gonna be 24 next year okay? Auntie your head!

After concluding that the problem was really with my hair, rather than the hair clip thing, Margaret promptly passed the baton to Irene.
First, you need to put all the hair through the hole (okay, sounds wrong >_<) and pull the hair clip thing all the way to the end of the hair.

Personally, I think 4 hands are needed to accomplish this task. 2 hands to hold the hair, and 1 hand to hold the hair clip and 1 hand to pull the hair through the clip.

Next, you need to roll the hair around the clip thing (see below).

After that, you need to bend the clip thing into a circle and fasten it.

BTW, i think Irene's finger nails are damn long, and more than a little bit scary. Pls remind me that I don't ever want to get into a cat fight with her.

Ta da! This is the end result.

An afternoon of leisure indeed! :)

Zouk VS Movida

As you guys know, I went to Zouk on Friday for a Stuff magazine party.
Well, unfortunately (or fortunately, i don't know) I got KOed pretty early.
Gosh. I think all the salsa has seriously affected my drinking abilities.
What, just 7 - 8 glasses of vodka and a beer had me out.

But i guess it was a good thing anyway, else I 'd probably be dancing on top of speakers with michelle and gang and do god knows what else. I think maybe jp was secretly pleased when i declared that i was drunk and wanted to go home.

Oh, and then on Sat...we checked out the clubs at St James Powerhouse.

Lovely.

I love Movida. The band there is fantastic! I only wish that the dance floor was larger...there was no way to salsa there though. Guess it's more of a drinks-after-dinner place than anything else. The Bellini Room is pretty nice too...if you like Jazz and Swing. Dragonfly is, er...cheena.

Oh, oh...and the place (St James) is so completlely swarming with poseurs. Ah, and where there are poseurs, there are celebreties. Saw Patricia Mok, David Gan and Fiona Xie.

Patricia Mok is actually not really ugly in real life. She just look completely normal.
So i guess, I'd probably look hideous on TV too.

Fiona, well, she just looks the way she looks on TV - IRRITATING. She was wearing this RIDICULOUS hat thing too. (See below left)
So stupid looking right? It's this color too.
I mean, it's so hot in the club already...so why wear the hat?
One word - POSEUR.
Okay, anyway.. membership at Movida comes ridiculously cheap. You just need to open a bottle and tada! It costs only $188. I wonder why...considering membership at MOS goes into (or so i heard) the thousands.
Ah, and one final thing...the place is also literally full of girls who dance like sluts.
I'm sorry. I'm all for the subtly sexy, come hither thing...but it's another thing when girls rub themselves against each other (or other men), wriggle like they are in heat and do the "mock touch"" thing. Only one thought comes to my mind whenever i see girls dancing like that - go get a room.
I guess they don't call it dirty dancing for nothing. I hate it.

So, here we go!

It's time to P.A.R.T.Y !!!

zz's birthday

Tomorrow is Zsazsa's birthday. She'll be 1 human year old tomorrow.

And, I think, 7 doggy years.

Awww.

So, me and jp are going to buy her a super big bone. Like a giant humongous one...hopefully something that's even bigger than her.

Bet that'll make her day...as well as make up for the fact that I'll be at Zouk tomo for a party and be home late tomorrow. :D

bunches of bacteria

Not been feeling too well recently.
Can't decide if it's the weather, or if it's just my body telling me to take a break and slow down.

I just about had it with the sniffles, heavy head, neck+head+body aches. My eyes feel like they are about to pop out of their sockets and I wore a sweater to the coffee shop for lunch today. I didn't even break out in a sweat.

I think jp and I just keep passing germs to each other. I get better and he just gives me a new bunch of bacteria and vice versa.

Sigh.

Oh, and did I mention, I also think the sun hates me.
It always become cloudy whenever I decide to go swimming.

My attempts to tan myself have been thwarted for 1 month running. I am so annoyed. I refuse to be pale. I want to be golden brown.

Damnit damnit damnit!

V is for Vindict and D is for Dunce

I am angry today.
Reason being that mich's ex bf (Mr D) told her that he thought I was boring. He also made some not so nice comments about JP (which mich, I think, wisely decided against telling me. I'd probably go set fire to his house and car if I heard it).

This is such an insult. Especially coming from such an unhappening person such as Mr D himself. Wake up lah, you stupid dick.

I am so NOT boring and I certainly don't think I am lacking in personality.
But of course you don't know that because you, Mr D, hardly know me..you anti-social jerk.

Because of his callous comment, I feel extremely spiteful now. And unlike Michelle, I don't care for his bridge. There was, at best, a rickety one before. It can crumble to bits for all I care now.

And because throughout mich and mr dickhead's relationship, I was always trying to speak up for him, his insult the more injurious. And so, here's what I think of Mr D ala Mr Dickhead, Do-do and Dunce.

Whole life only know how to kayak, sleep, don't want to try new things and dare say me boring somemore! Got shih tzu cut the hair until the dog looks like donno what shit like that. Please, if you want to buy a dog with long fur, then please, let the damned fur grow. What's the point of shaving a shih tzu to the skin and making it look like some confused, pathetic cat when the fur coat is supposed to be its crowning glory?

Ah, then at age 25, go and become some stupid SIA boy.
Kao. Work there for 2 to 3 years, come out 28 years old. And leave SIA with what? Waitering and customer service skills.

Wah, such an accomplishment wor.

For someone who happily wiles his life away waitering in the skies at age 25, he doesn't sound too smart.

Mich, I'm glad you broke up with the guy. You should have really done it sooner, and i apologise for discouraging you previously from doing so.

Envy and anger are deadly combinations

My colleague has a free ticket to Darwin and I'm jealous.
She's being flown there for a party. How cool is that can?

Sigh. She gets all the good lobangs while I end up with crap.
Like the pile Singnet recently dished onto me.

I signed my contract with them like 2 years ago..back when broadband prices were astronomical. Anyway, my contract recently expired and instead of reverting to the default current market price of $47.25, they persisted to charge me $75 per month.

And they refused to revise the price unless I did a recontract. I was told point blank that I would continue to pay the outdated and ridiculously overprice rate if I chose not to renew my contract.

If i wanted to terminate, I would have to give them 1 month notice. Which also meant that I had to pay $75 monthly fee.

If I wanted to terminate with immediate effect, I would have to pay a processing fee of $40.

I am so angry. And I can't understand why doesn't the system automatically reflect the current market price? I'd get it if I were tied down by a contract and bound to pay a certain amount. But when there is no contract, this logic is just pure nonsense.

So people, pls check your singnet bills. You may be ridiculously overcharged and not know it. According to the CS officer, there are some people still pay $80+ for their 512Kbps broadband.

I've since terminated my service with the dishonest and disgusting people at Singtel. You guys should too...

No. 1 customer service, my ass!

bad breath

Recently, Zsa zsa has been plagued by a spate of bad breathe. Must be all the chicken she's been eating.

I attribute it to the fact that she hates having her teeth brushed. She nearly bit the baby toothbrush I bought her to bits the last time.

She would just chomp down on the toothbrush and ruin it. Brushing her teeth is a real chore.

What we really needed is a brush with bristles all round it, rather than just on 1 side so that when she bites down, both her upper and lower teeth are cleaned.

Then we had a brainwave!

We just need to buy a baby bottle cleaner! Okay, it's actually nipple cleaner...it just reads/sounds obscene.

Anyway, after some scouting around the supermarket, we found it.

Quite cool rite? wahahaa.

But she wasn't too happy with her new toothbrush. Sometimes, I think she just likes being dirty.

The whole exercise was extremely trying.

At the end, we were both knocked out.

Eh, it's not easy trying to breathe a dog's teeth you know. Especially if the dog doesn't want you to brush her teeth and is convinced that you are really trying to kill/poison/hurt/choke her. :(

Hopefully, it'll get easier next time.

pet peeve no. 101

i think i discovered another pet peeve.
I cannot tahan slowness.

I cannot stand walking behind slow people on the streets. I get annoyed with people walk in the middle of the road at a snails pace. I also cannot tahan it when people take their own sweet time to finish up their food at crowded hawker centers.

I can't decide if it's because I live in such a fast-paced society where everything is "instant" that just a wee bit of tardiness annoys me like crazy.
But I just can't stand it. I can't stand waiting. It drives me NUTS.

Okay. Sounds like i'm being anal. But i can't help it.

People who are slow, slow me down. Which means, they waste my time for being slow. And that annoys me.

In fact, I feel like smacking all the slow people in the world. Or at least all the slow people in the world who eat into my time.

Bah.

me, jp and zz.

Busy week. OT everyday, damn sian.

Anyway, a post to sum up the week.

Guess what jp's carrying?

It's a mattress, stuffed with feathers.
No fillers, mind you.

He had to carry it from my mom's car last weekend up to my house where it is now residing on its foldable bedframe under my bed.

So detailed hor? wahahaha.

Nothing much to blog about ma...

BTW, i think jp is more poseur than me. Carry the bloody feather mattress so heavy already still have mood to pose and smile. >_<

Here's a pic of jp and my favourite doggy looking beatific!

Somehow, she's decided that jp is now one of her favourite people and will attempt to sit near/on him whenever possible.

Except if she has to choose between me and jp, then of course she'll choose me lah.

Yea, otherwise she'd be one very dead dog. I digress.

Anyway, she has taken to sitting on people she likes. Which is weird because what's the point of sitting on something/someone you like? Hmmm..

She's overweight, btw.
Just look at her. She's such a pig.

We also had to bring her to the vet recently to check out what's causing her to limp...which set me back by a freaking S$180!!!! That's enough to buy a pair of Nine West/Aldo shoes and still have money left over for some sushi lor!!!

Sigh. Turns out she's got a loose knee socket or something and the condition could get worse with time. So she's got to exercise more and LOSE WEIGHT! She also got pain killers, 3 X-Rays and a bone cartiledge supplement which cost $60++. Mad. I don't even take vitamins or supplements that cost that much.

I think the human version of the supplement would be cheaper lor! *faint*

too busy to blog

The weekend is finally here.
Wow...long and busy week. Been a while since I last was too busy to blog.

So, a few quick updates on my life.

1. Zsa zsa has taken it upon herself to be my backup alarm clock. For the last 3 days, she has barked at me in the morning when i didn't get up within 10mins upon hearing my alarm clock ring. She circles my bed and tries her best to reach me with her paws while standing on her hind legs. If i don't wake up, she nibbles and barks at me.

As a result, I'm slightly earlier for work now.

2. My parents are more forward looking than I thought. They've agreed to let jp stay over at my place. Good leh, then no need to waste money on cab fare!~ I just wonder if zsa zsa will climb into bed with him considering that his mattress will be occupying the space her bed normally is placed.

3. I'm learning how to play mahjong for real this time. So are my 2 brothers and mother. My dad doesn't know. Yet.

We are still trying to figure out how to break the news to him. He hates mahjong. Which also means he will probably become senile when he is old. Uh oh.

4. I have low blood pressure. Well, at least according to the foot reflexologist. Mich attributes it to too much exercise. My mother thinks it's because there's a bad spirit attached to me. I just think I'm suay.

Right, so that's it.

Have a good weekend!~
