lost in transit
Hello there!
I'm back!
Rejuvenated? Okay lah.
Bali is a tourist trap...and we lost our bags in transit.
Sigh. Losing your luggage is so not funny.
Blame it on indecisiveness and a last-minute-booking....we ended up having to transit at Jakarta before making it to Bali instead of having a direct flight.

Anyway, when we reached Bali, we couldn't find out stuff. After hunting around the travellator for quite a bit, we eventually found our bags at the Lost & Found section.
Yes, we should have taken it as a sign there and then that bags do have a tendency to go wandering off on transit flights.
Whatever. Anyway, they managed to locate our bags yesterday and everything is in one piece still...so I guess it's okay. Thank god they lost our bags on the way back and not as we were heading for Bali.
Anyway, Bali is overall an OK place to go. Not highly recommended on my list though. Too commercialized with waaaay too many touts. Now that I've been there, can't quite blame the terrorists for bombing the place. Kuta was swarming with Ang Mos. In fact, I felt like bombing the place!
But Hard Rock is a seriously nice place to stay.
The pool area is absolutely amazing.
Too bad Singapore doesn't have Hard Rock hotel...else I wouldn't mind shelling out the S$200+ per night just to hang out there.
It's really super nice...
We also checked out Jimbaran Bay... the place for supposedly-excellent-and-supremely-cheap seafood.
The food was not good. Edible but definitely not very good.
Price-wise...cheaper than Singapore but comparable to Malaysia.
But oh, the sunset is gorgeous. And we got to eat on the beach itself while watching the sunset.
It was more romantic than anything else really.
We also visited some volcano (dormant, of course!)
Er, the air there was FREAKING COLD!!!
That mountain in the background is the volcano in question btw.

The long and short of this post is:
1. Bali is only OK. Go somewhere else if u can.
2. Handcarry all luggage (if possible) when taking transit flights.
3. There was NO haze in Bali.
