of the days gone by...

Yday I took the bus home from Bugis with jp.
It’s been a very very very long time since I last took a bus home from anywhere.

I took the 170 from Sim Lim, alighted at the Customs and walked home.

Why, I felt like I was 16 again.
Strolling hand-in-hand along a beaten track covered with dead leaves with nary a soul in sight…there was even a yellow lighted lamp post under which we stood for a moment.

It’s been so long since I walked around my neighborhood. Think the last time I walked along that path was when I was 14?

Wow. Time really flies.

I remember running down that very path everyday during Primary school. Me and my friends would be either holding on to a 20cent popsicle or a bottle of coke, pick at the weird plants along the way, throw sticks at the jumbu tree to make the fruits fall when in season and fight with the boys.

Yes, I was quite the tomboy when I was younger.
Can’t tell hor? Hehe.

Thinking back brings a nice woozy feeling to my tummy…the memory of the days when time was not a treasured commodity. Now, 24hrs a day is just not enough. I need at least 36!

Sigh.

I miss climbing trees. I want to go exploring giant canals and get mud all the way to my knees catching crabs at the seaside behind my house. I want to find the haunted ruin in the mini forest along the jetty.

I want to be a little girl again.

But it’s okay. I relived the moments again yesterday as I walked down the path with jp.
