The reason why I prefer dogs to humans.

I hate living in Singapore and I hate the Singaporean mentality. It’s so ugly, ugly, ugly!

True, not all Singaporeans are kiasu, money-minded, petty, arrogant, sheltered, narrow-minded and ungracious. But it is a sad fact that the descriptions above are applicable to at least ½ of the citizens here.

It’s disgusting. And extremely embarrassing.

I’m sorry if this comes across as harsh, but I do honestly think it’s true. Feel free to correct me if you think I’m wrong though.

I often wonder, what is our government doing? Spending tons of money building world class infrastructure for schools, businesses and pumping money into our economy but where is the dough for educating her citizens in graciousness?

It is very difficult for me to accept the uncouthness of my fellow citizens when I know Singapore has world class instructure, a booming economy and is a highly developed country. What excuse is there for acting like some coarse, uneducated, low-class arse when you have everything you need? Or should I blame the parents?

Why can’t people here just be more gracious? Why can’t they say “excuse me” when they want to move past? Why must they push? Why must they pile their buffet plates with more than they can eat? Why do they queue for hours for a free cheapo item that costs less than S$1? Why are they not environmentally conscious and think it’s a right to litter? Why are the people obsessed with money, cars, and other petty material gains?

Can’t they see the bigger picture?

Bah.
