the point of no return

Here's what I think...

HAPPINESS

To be happy with a man, you must understand him alot and love him a little.

Perhaps...but it's difficult to love without understanding. Love without understanding is generally known as infatuation. That's why you shouldn't believe it when someone tells you that he/she loves you too early in a relationship. It's all just bull.

To be happy with a woman, you must love her alot and try not to understand her at all.

Wrong. If you love someone, you will naturally want to untangle all the mysteries and find out more about her. So...as above - Loving without understanding = infatuation = no good outcome


PROPENSITY TO CHANGE

A woman marries a man, expecting that he will change, but he doesn't.

True. So far, almost all married people (including my mom) have told me that if they don't change before marriage, it's unlikely that they ever will.

A man marries a woman expecting that she won't change, but she does.

Also true. Reason? A woman expects a man to change and he doesn't. Problem lies in the fact that the man and the woman are already married and so she can't dump him easily. Resourceful women work their way around the problem. If you cant change him, you change yourself. In what ways? Perhaps caring less...distancing and even extra-marital affairs? Not to say that this should be the immediate solution to any problem..I'm sure people generally will tend to try work things out first. But if all else fails, I guess it's just easier to ignore it altogether and do things you way, the way you want.


LONGEVITY

Married men live longer than single men do, but married men are alot more willing to die.

Question is, die of what?


DISCUSSION TECHNIQUE

A woman has the last word in any argument

Anything a man says after that is the beginning of a new argument.

True. Absolutely. Or until the woman reaches the point of no return, upon which, it really doesn't matter what you say, when you say it or if you say it at all.
