Ministry of Sound...My new love.

Yesterday night was the pre-launch party of MOS. So...having free passes for the event, I decided to go have a look-see even though I had work the next day. And gosh, it is really so super cool...super awesome and totally huge. I think all the clubbers in Singapore can fit in the club...plus some tourists! Haha! The minute I entered the place, I decided that Zouk's going to face certain death. (sorry, but i am going to rant about MOS for the rest of this piece)

MOS is like the mother of clubs. There's something for everyone (okay, maybe except for the Techno freaks, but you wouldn't really want to bring in that kind of crowd anyway). You could go there just to chill, and still feel totally in, totally happening and totally cool.

There are so many rooms, its like a maze...each room has its own theme and is so different from the others. I was telling mimosa (we have quite different taste in music) that we could go clubbing together, split up to different rooms and probably not bump into each other for the rest of the night, save to go home together. MOS is like all the different clubs rolled into one. The coolest ever.

There are 2 levels...the main hall i think plays a mishmash of pop fused trance fused eurodance thingy (in a good way) and then there are the different rooms on the 2nd floor. The second floor overlooks the first and there are seats everywhere. According to mimosa, the upstairs layout is exactly like that of KL Zouk. But I've never been to KL zouk so i can't confirm what he says is true. Well anyway, the 2nd floor overlooks the first and the music upstairs isn't too loud (though still very cool) and you can actually hear urself speak over the music without yelling. Smart. No more saliva in my face anymore. Haha.

There's this room called PURE which is exactly like the one you see in the Nokia 7260 ad. You know, the totally white room with the totally cool people? Exactly. And they have humongous (and its really big, I tell you. Though prone to exaggeration, this time, I am not.) giant beanbags for you to lounge on. It's so big, i think 10 people can sit on it.

And then, there's this retro room. Woah..think Austin Powers, baby! They had these really old school dance floor with a huge rotating ball thingy and flashing colored squares. Shagedelic! Retro is really the only word for it.

Then there's a R&B room downstairs..with a sort of SM feel..with steel cages and everything. Hardcore, if you ask me. Not my cup of tea though so I was out of there in a flash.

Oh...oh...and did I mention that they have an ESCALATOR in the club??

They have an escalator in the club !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ah...I don't think I covered all the rooms here...but the point is, you just gotta go!

I'm just so blown. I'd kill for membership. So...who wants to go???

And I don't think S'pore is boring anymore.

For now.
